Going Down

Today wasn't good for me....at least on the subject of disc golf. I fell to the bottom ten percent of participants. Rosedale Down under is in my past now. I hope I never see the course again. I really thought I stood a chance of moving up the leader board here. Nope....nada....done with.

I have played with some great people here. Kazuhiko Gomibuchi, from Japan, is a great opponent with a positive attitude. Communication was hard at times but I think we connected pretty well. Lee Hansen from Lincoln, Nebraska was another just plain old good guy. The most impressive was Mike Helm from Canon City, Colorado. Mike has made the final card in the last four World Championships but has not played in any of the final rounds. Mike's religious beliefs prevent him from working or playing on Saturdays. He has given up his spot each of the last four years to the next person in line. He told me that there are more important things in life than disc golf....faith and family came first....closely followed by disc golf. Mike is special.

Hopefully I'll move up the board tomorrow....but even if I don't, this has already been a great experience for me.
