Played Clyde Fant today...wish they would mow. The grass is getting high and is preventing any slides or skips. Today wasn't as hot as it has been....high 80's in mid-morning.
Shot an average round......53. Driving was okay except for several bad throws that kept me from having a chance at birdie. The Destroyer has been on the mark the last two days.
Midranges and approaches were dead on again....I am happy with that. Putting was good...happy there also.
Hydrated last night and drank water between every hole....felt better after the round.
Threw Buzzes and Wasps at the practice basket from the picnic table between 3 and 4. Parked every one of them.

Clyde Fant
Haven't played...or practiced much other than putting....because of the heat. Played this morning at Clyde Fant....scored a 51 with two or three missed opportunities. Drives were good except for one or two. Approaches were dead on. Putts were made.
Felt good...stayed hydrated. Wind was blowing a little, which helped with the heat. Two things that I think will be part of my packing list will be (1) umbrella for rain and shade, and (2) Ice Bag kept in a cooler on my cart. An ice bag on the back of the neck may be the thing.
Going to play again tomorrow....don't know where yet....will post.

Midrange Day
Threw midranges today at lunch....Buzzz, Wasp, and QMS. All did well backhand....the QMS really surprised me with the line....straight as an arrow...little, if any fade. Buzzz(es) and Wasps were accurate at up to 200 feet. Tried forehand at 100 feet with some success....will have to practice more at this.
Dad and I are going to Bistineau tomorrow after work. Adam White and (maybe) Joal McKenzie are meeting us there. I really need a break from Ford Park. Bistineau should indicate whether I'm heading in the right direction.
Putted for about 15 minutes in the back yard tonight....did well, but missed a few due to not following pre-shot routine. Have to get my head right with putting.

Plan for action
I've got to formulate some sort of plan for preparation for the tournament. Lately, I've been throwing my putters for accuracy at 100-200 feet. This has seemed to improve my approaches so I'll continue that. I may do the same with my midranges but from 150-250 feet. I also need to practice my forehand approaches.
Not sure how I'm going to do all of this....I've been throwing at lunch for 30-45 minutes. I'll look at alternating days for putters/midranges.
I'll probably putt three days a week also.
Will I have time to play?

Here we go....
Don't really know how to start this....guess I'll just go for it....
From July 27th to August 1st of 2009, Dad and I will be playing in the Professional Disc Golf Association World Championships in Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas. In the beginning I had planned to act as a Caddie for Dad in the Pro Legends Division, but he talked me into playing. I entered the Advanced (Amateur) Grandmasters Division and will be playing against 71 other 50-59 year old men....most of them possessing better skills than I.
I won't win this one....the skills just are not there at this time...but I do think that I can make a good showing....maybe middle-of-the-pack. I'll be happy with that.
Dad, however, is another story.....he has a very good chance at winning it all against his division. I know that I'll be there as his Caddie if he makes the finals on the last day of play.
I'll be posting as we prepare....
